Preventative Care

Exams:
We recommend physical exams every 6 months, particularly for senior pets. This is our best tool for identifying any potential health problems with your pet.

Vaccines:
For dogs, our vaccine protocols are individually tailored to your dog’s lifestyle and risk, and follow current recommendations as set forth by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). We recommend DHPP and Rabies vaccines, and discuss Leptospirosis, Bordetella, Lyme, Rattlesnake, and Influenza vaccines as needed.

For cats, our vaccine protocols are individually tailored to your cat’s lifestyle and risk, and follow current recommendations as set forth by the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP). We recommend FVRCP and Rabies vaccines, and discuss Leukemia vaccines based on lifestyle. All of these vaccines are non-adjuvanted, deemed to be the safest available. We do not recommend FIV or FIP vaccines.

Dietary Counseling:
We believe in preventative medicine including maintaining the proper weight for your pet. Ask us for recommendations on how to keep your pet in the best shape possible. We carry a variety of veterinary prescription diets.

Microchips:
We recommend having your pet microchipped as a form of permanent identification, and are happy to provide this service.
